Why is communication increasingly on the boardroom agenda?

More often than before, Boards now have the responsibility of being a good corporate citizen, living up to the expectations of customers and employees, besides managing higher complexities of operating globally. Boardroom agenda being rewritten is placing importance on communications, hence communication professionals are gaining a place in the leadership team.

As reputation management is becoming more reflected in the business success, Corporate Affairs and Communication are becoming more strategic. Communicators, besides managing organisation’s reputation are managing crisis, as well. With social media making its way in the C-suite, communication as a profession is playing an important role in the boardroom with communicators getting a seat at the table!
